poetry

a burden of proof

i’ve broken my cage. a few times. trying to give away. what’s only mine to give. left exposed, laying on the thoughts that were lost. sternum scars, and the secrets… only i have to bear. misunderstanding, the gift i hold. a burden of proof. that the phantoms in my eyes, can even see.
